Overview
These Terms & Conditions apply to all diagnostics, repairs, parts orders, data recovery attempts, mail-in repairs, and other services performed by Sneads Ferry Tech Repair (“SFTR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By leaving, mailing, or authorizing service on your device, you agree to the terms below.
We do our best to provide honest diagnostics, clear estimates, and reliable repairs. However, electronics can be unpredictable, especially when a device has liquid damage, corrosion, impact damage, prior repair attempts, or hidden board-level issues.
Repair Authorization
You authorize Sneads Ferry Tech Repair to inspect, diagnose, disassemble, test, repair, and service the device or equipment you provide. You confirm that you are the owner of the device or have permission from the owner to authorize service.
No paid repair work will be performed without your approval unless you have already approved that work in writing, by text, email, invoice approval, online form, or another documented method.
Repair Risks
Electronic repairs are unpredictable. Your device may already have hidden damage, failing components, liquid damage, corrosion, prior repair damage, software corruption, electrical issues, or board-level problems that are not visible until the device is opened or tested.
Your device may be beyond repair, may fail during service, or may become permanently unusable despite reasonable repair efforts. This is especially true for devices affected by liquid damage, corrosion, electrical shorts, overheating, physical impact, previous repairs, or motherboard failure.
Devices with glued-on screens, such as iPads, tablets, smartwatches, and similar devices, may require heat, prying, or separation of delicate glass and adhesive. Although we use care and proper tools, screens, glass, cables, buttons, sensors, housings, and other parts may crack, tear, separate, or fail during disassembly.
Touch ID, Face ID, fingerprint sensors, cameras, microphones, speakers, charging ports, buttons, back glass, screen assemblies, antennas, and other delicate or paired components may fail during or after repair depending on the condition of the device. Some features may not be restorable if they are damaged, paired to original hardware, affected by prior repairs, or restricted by the manufacturer.
Estimates
We try to be as thorough as possible with all estimates, but estimates are not guaranteed to be final or all-inclusive. Some issues cannot be fully identified until testing, disassembly, cleaning, part replacement, or further diagnostics are performed.
If we discover that the original estimate needs to change, we will contact you before continuing with additional paid work. Any change in price, parts, or repair direction must be approved by you before we move forward.
An estimate is valid only for the specific issue, symptoms, and service originally discussed. If additional issues are found, or if the original repair is no longer likely to solve the problem, we will explain the updated options before proceeding.
Diagnostics
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair offers free basic diagnostics unless otherwise stated. Some advanced diagnostics, board-level inspections, liquid damage cleaning, data recovery attempts, no-power devices, or previously repaired devices may require a diagnostic fee or repair attempt fee.
Free diagnostics do not guarantee that every issue will be found, especially if the device cannot power on, cannot be fully tested, has intermittent problems, has liquid damage, or has multiple failing components.
Limited Shop Warranty
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair provides a 60-day limited warranty on qualifying repairs.
If the same issue from the original approved repair returns within 60 days of pickup, we will inspect the device. If the issue is directly related to the original repair or a part supplied by Sneads Ferry Tech Repair, we will perform the repair again at no additional labor charge.
Parts supplied by Sneads Ferry Tech Repair are covered for 60 days from the date of service unless otherwise stated. The warranty only applies to the specific part or repair listed on the original work order or invoice.
This warranty does not cover unrelated issues, new symptoms, user-caused damage, software issues, liquid damage, physical damage, electrical damage, tampering, misuse, or problems not connected to the original repair.
Warranty Exclusions
We do not offer warranties or guarantees, express or implied, on any of the following:
- Services performed using customer-supplied parts.
- Parts not purchased through Sneads Ferry Tech Repair.
- Software issues, including operating system errors, failed updates, virus removal, malware, spyware, account locks, password issues, activation locks, or data loss.
- Liquid-damaged devices.
- Board-level repairs unless specifically stated in writing.
- Data recovery attempts.
- Devices with prior repair attempts.
- Devices with corrosion, rust, burn damage, severe impact damage, or electrical damage.
- New symptoms or issues that appear after the original repair and are not directly related to the original work order.
- Damage caused by drops, bending, crushing, pressure, heat, cold, moisture, liquid exposure, improper charging accessories, power surges, faulty outlets, or misuse.
- Devices opened, modified, repaired, or tampered with by the customer or another repair provider after service by Sneads Ferry Tech Repair.
- Any device damaged after pickup.
Note: The limited warranty is void if the device is physically damaged, opened, modified, exposed to liquid, dropped, bent, crushed, or otherwise tampered with after the repair.
Manufacturer Warranty
Some services performed by Sneads Ferry Tech Repair may void your manufacturer’s warranty or affect manufacturer trade-in, insurance, or service eligibility. By accepting service from Sneads Ferry Tech Repair, you understand and agree that we are not responsible if a manufacturer, carrier, insurer, or third-party provider refuses future warranty, trade-in, or service coverage.
Warranty Repairs
If you believe your repair has failed within the 60-day warranty period, you must contact Sneads Ferry Tech Repair and allow us to inspect the device.
No refund will be issued before we are given the opportunity to inspect the device and attempt to correct any qualifying warranty issue.
If the issue is covered by our limited warranty, we will correct the issue at no additional labor charge. If the issue is not related to the original repair, we will provide a new estimate before performing additional work.
Refunds, when approved, are at the discretion of Sneads Ferry Tech Repair and may exclude diagnostic time, repair attempt fees, special-order parts, shipping charges, and other non-refundable costs.
Repair Time
We work to complete repairs as quickly as possible, but repair times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Many repairs may be completed the same day or within 1–48 hours when parts are available. However, delays may occur due to parts availability, shipping delays, device condition, diagnostic complexity, workload, prior repair damage, liquid damage, or unexpected issues found during service.
Any repair time listed on our website, social media, messages, invoices, or promotional materials is an estimate based on typical repair conditions and does not guarantee completion by a specific date or time.
Replacement Parts
If your repair requires replacement parts, we will explain the part needed, why it is needed, the cost, and the estimated arrival time when possible.
Shipping times and supplier delays are outside our control. Estimated arrival dates are not guaranteed.
For special-order parts, a deposit may be required before the part is ordered. Deposits for special-order parts are non-refundable once the part has been ordered, unless we choose otherwise in writing.
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair generally does not install customer-supplied parts because we cannot verify their quality, compatibility, condition, or reliability. If we agree to install a customer-supplied part, the part itself is not covered by our warranty, and the repair may not qualify for our limited shop warranty.
By providing your own part, you agree that Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for defects, incompatibility, fitment issues, failure, damage, or additional problems caused by that part.
Repair Attempt Fee
Some services may require a repair attempt fee, including motherboard repairs, soldering work, liquid damage treatment, data recovery, no-power devices, devices with prior repair attempts, or complex diagnostics.
If the repair is unsuccessful, the device is not recoverable, data recovery is not possible, or the device was previously damaged or worked on before arrival, a repair attempt fee may still apply to cover time, labor, testing, cleaning, inspection, and materials.
Repair attempt fees may vary depending on the device and work required and will typically range from $40 to $100 unless otherwise stated.
Data and Backups
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair does not guarantee the safety, security, recovery, or preservation of your data.
Although we take reasonable care to avoid data loss, repair work may result in lost files, erased data, corrupted software, failed storage, device resets, or other data-related issues. You are responsible for backing up your data before service.
If we believe a procedure may create a higher risk of data loss, we will try to inform you before continuing. However, due to the complex nature of electronics, we cannot predict every possible data issue in advance.
You agree that Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not liable for lost data, lost photos, lost files, lost contacts, lost messages, lost apps, lost passwords, lost accounts, or any other data-related loss.
Password, Locks, and Accounts
Some repairs require access to the device for testing. If you choose not to provide a passcode, password, account access, or permission to test the device, we may be unable to fully verify the repair.
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for devices locked by Apple ID, Google account, Samsung account, Microsoft account, BIOS password, carrier lock, MDM lock, activation lock, parental control lock, or any other security feature.
You are responsible for removing locks, disabling tracking when required, and ensuring that you know your account credentials before service.
Device Condition
We may document the condition of your device at intake, including visible damage, cracks, dents, scratches, missing screws, missing parts, liquid indicators, corrosion, prior repair signs, or other issues.
You acknowledge that some pre-existing damage may not be visible until the device is opened. Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden damage, or conditions discovered during service.
Payment
Payment is due when the repair is complete unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.
Devices may not be released until the balance is paid in full. Accepted payment methods may vary.
Returned payments, chargebacks, unpaid invoices, or disputed payments may result in additional fees, collection action, loss of warranty coverage, and refusal of future service.
Shipping Policy
Most of our work is local, but if you mail us your device, you are responsible for safely packaging your device and choosing appropriate shipping insurance.
- You are responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise stated.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable.
- Use a trackable shipping service.
- Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for damage, loss, theft, delay, or mishandling that occurs during shipping.
- If you provide your own prepaid shipping label, you are responsible for making sure the label includes the correct address, tracking, and insurance.
Devices not shipped in original or protective packaging are more likely to be damaged. If your device is shipped to us in a generic or insufficient box, we may return it using similar packaging unless you request and pay for upgraded packaging or shipping.
Pickup Time Limit and Storage
Due to limited storage space, completed, unrepaired, declined, or canceled devices must be picked up promptly after we notify you that the device is ready.
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair will hold devices for up to 60 days after notice is sent that the device is ready for pickup, unless other arrangements are approved in writing.
After 60 days, the device may be considered abandoned to the fullest extent allowed by law. Sneads Ferry Tech Repair may assess storage fees, recycle the device, dispose of the device, or sell the device to recover unpaid labor, parts, storage, diagnostic, repair attempt, and administrative costs, subject to applicable law.
If extended storage is approved, a storage fee of $40 per month may apply.
It is your responsibility to keep your contact information current and respond to pickup notifications. Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for missed calls, undelivered messages, full voicemail boxes, changed phone numbers, incorrect email addresses, or failure to receive notices due to incorrect customer information.
Canceled or Declined Repairs
If you decline a repair after diagnostics, disassembly, cleaning, part ordering, or repair attempt work has started, you may still owe diagnostic fees, repair attempt fees, special-order part costs, shipping fees, or other approved charges.
Devices may be returned disassembled if reassembly is unsafe, impossible, likely to cause additional damage, or not practical due to the condition of the device.
Liquid Damage
Liquid-damaged devices are unpredictable and are not covered by warranty.
Cleaning or repairing a liquid-damaged device does not guarantee long-term function. Corrosion can continue to spread, components can fail later, and the device may stop working at any time even after a successful repair.
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not responsible for future failures on liquid-damaged devices.
Data Recovery
Data recovery is never guaranteed. Storage devices, phones, tablets, computers, drives, and memory chips may be too damaged, corrupted, encrypted, overwritten, or degraded to recover data.
Data recovery attempts may require opening, disassembling, powering, imaging, repairing, or otherwise manipulating the device or storage media. These attempts may not succeed and may carry risk of further failure.
A data recovery attempt fee may apply even if no data is recovered.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Sneads Ferry Tech Repair’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service performed.
Sneads Ferry Tech Repair is not liable for lost data, lost profits, lost business, lost time, loss of use, replacement device costs, inconvenience, missed deadlines, shipping delays, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
Agreement
By authorizing service, leaving your device with Sneads Ferry Tech Repair, mailing in your device, approving an estimate, paying an invoice, or otherwise requesting service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
